hey guys, at the moment i have a intel i3 550 3.20ghz, i have just bourght the cooler master 212 hyper plus cpu cooler, the problem i have is my motherboard is rubbish; i cant overclock with it.
so iv come to this dilemma. should i upgrade my motherboard to a good lga 1156 p55 that is great for overclocking, or should i buy a i7 processor / i5 2005k and get a suitable motherboard for overclocking.
thank you.

it all depends on what you plan on doing with the pc. If you're not doing anything intensive other than gaming you could likely get away with getting a better board and oc'ing the 550.

There are a ton of upgrade routes to go without getting in to the newest tech. i7 is best for multi-threaded and multi-tasking often. the i5 can do the same, just not quite as fast.

It all really comes down to what you plan on doing with the system in the end. Gaming is easy upgrade, photo/video editing is different, emails and slight gaming is also way different etc etc etc.

my computer is basically just for gaming... abit of web browsing also but im fine with that atm. i really just want to oc as much as possible :)
