the AWP bullet is a .338 Lapua or 8mm (i figure cause a 7.62mm is a .308 Winchester)

this bullet is 20mm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder how many people that would go thru if they were in a line in cs??? also, i wonder how much damage that would do point blank on the head??? like 9999 damage ??? jeezzzz!!!

the 7.92mm bullet has joules of an avg of about 4,200 joules, the AWP in cs doens't even have that, but the 14.5mm bullet here has about 32,000 Joules!!! and remember the bullet/gun i was orignally talking about was 20mm!!!!! so i think the 20mm sniper rifle is more powerful than the AWP by like 10 TIMES !!!!!!!!!!!!

i think they should add this gun to CS for 16000 dollars, one shot to the leg would dismember ur whole leg and u would easily bleed to death so i'm think dmg to leg is about 2000!!!

The United States has never signed any treaty that restricts what kind of ammunition its armed forces can uses.

Untrue. The Geneva Convention of 12 August, 1949 established LoLW (Law of Land Warfare) standards for arms and ammunition that can be used against human combatants. This falls under Field Manuals 27-2, and 27-10.

One example of this is the .50 caliber sniper rifle which, according the the Geneva Convention, cannot be used against human targets because wounds resulting from its use cause "undue suffering". Therefore it can only be used against equipment and vehicles, (however, a helmet is considered equipment irregardless of the fact that it is occupied by a head or not).

A 20mm cannon would most likely fall under the same category, although I've never seen a 20mm sniper rifle. There are a few 14.5mm sniper variants which were used by the Mujahideen in Afganistan against the Solviet Union during that conflict. They were hand-built by Pakistani gunsmiths and their primary advantage was range. They <I>could be</I> accurate to 20in groups at up to 2 miles. Their dissadvantage was ammunition. No one has ever really made match-grade ammunition in 14.5mm, a fact which caused rounds made on any given day to have differing characteristics.
 
It falls within the category of "Forbidden targets, tactics, and techniques" and is there with the prohibition against altering your weapons to increase enemy suffering. It's something I found fairly silly and arbitrary. A rifle is inhumane but a hand grenade is not. <shrug>

BTW, yes, the Geneva Convention is mostly about PoWs, but it also contains the rules for the Code of Conduct and SERE.
 
i found another BFG, this is a vulcan gun that shoots 7 barrels and uses 30mm rounds. It has a recoil force of 9,000 lbs i read on another site. Imagine emptying a couple hundred thousand rounds of 30mm bullets on that bully at school!!!! j/k

while there at it, they should go all out and make a 100mm bolt action anti-tank sniper rifle. The scope would have to be huge, cause i reckon that scopes gonna recoil a couple yards!!! The scope should be night-vision 20-60x100 fiber optic !!!!!!! And put a silencer on that gun!!!!!!!!! OMG that would be the sweetest most expensive sniper rifle ever. The only thing i'd hunt with that would be osama or haddaum. I'd make sure to shoot either one of them in the knee-cap!!! LMFAO!!!

NO, better yet. 1000mm machine gun!!!! fires 10,000 rounds a minute of 1000mm armour piercing bullet!!!!! also, the bullets are High Explosive!!! And the gun has a effective range of 20 miles !!!!!!! See, if any of these so-called tough CoolerMaster Cases can with stand a couple billion rounds of that gun!!!!!! i forgot to take my medicine, AARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek: :eek: :eek: :mad:

i agree. and that last link to the 30mm cannon looks more like a weapon for a vehicle. a recoil force of 9,000lbs would def break some bones.
 
The laws of the Geneva Convention encompass everything Military including Peacetime. Every soldier that is part of a recognized military must have a Geneva Conventions card on them at all times. It is like your driver’s license or social security card. They are your Military ID along with your dog tags.

It is not silly and arbitrary. What they mean by that is, making the weapon more destructive than what was initially intended. Like taking a standard military round and cutting an X onto the tip (more commonly known as a dumb dumb). Or taking a hollow point round and filling it with Teflon.

You wouldn't be able to get off more than 2 or three shots of that 20mm rifle, if you were up close, before they would spot you. I've seen the muzzle flash from a 50 cal. rifle. It's no small potatoes. The flash from that 20mm has to be huge.

Unfortunately the way the world is now we are fighting against more and more non recognized groups. Guerrillas, Fanatics, Terrorists to name a few. They don't have to follow the GC's rules but we do. It is a good thing the Geneva Convention is there. It creates humanity where they normally would be chaos. War is chaos already, there is no need to make it more complicated.

1000mm would be soooooo big it's crazy thats shell whould weigh like 20 tons no way you could ever make a machinegun for it. As for that 30mm cannon that gun it's what the whole A-10 Warthog it built around. In the case of the A-10, instead of building the weapons around the plane the A-10 was designed and built around that 30mm cannon it fires depeleted uranium rounds that can pierce anything. For the 100mm cannon we have one it's called the M1A1 Abrams and is equiped with a 120mm main cannon.

yea i agree as well and that gun is certainly mounted on a vehicle, its mounted on the A10 and is about the size of a small car.
 
Yeah they are dope. Go to see one up close and personal... they are bad@**ed mothers... definately dont want to be on the recieving end.

The Phalanx weapons system is sweet. The advanced tracking system calculates the speed of the target and leads the bullet stream to compensate. If it targets you, you better be one hell of a pilot or there will be no tommorrow.
