So as we all know, AMD has opted for simply stuffing more cores into their CPUs, with no care for power consumption or heat production with the FX line, and other CPU lines as well, and not really paid too much attention to IPC or PPC. This is why Intel has absolutely mopped the floor with them in the CPU market since 2010, 2011. Intel also had HyperThreading, which AMD obviously never seemed to bother with. But now with Zen, they supposedly have their own version of HT called SMT. They're also going to be releasing 6 core and 8 core CPUs with this technology. I'm curious as to what you all think about this, if AMD might catch up again, or if it's simply going to be a cheap attempt at doing so that will blow up in their faces. Perhaps literally with their heat dissipation record.
