Am new to the forums and haven't tried to oc a i7 or build a computer in quite a while. I'm looking at doing a 17-2600k build with X-Fire 6970s and a OCZ RevoDrive X2 sitting close in the PCI slots, build here in the following case:

I want to get the cooling right on this thing. Am thinking of replacing the fans on a Noctua NH D14 with one each of these fans:

Is this a bad idea? Looking to hit 5.0 Ghz on a good air cooler. Also looking at replacing all the fans throughout the case with = sized equivalents.

A little concerned about adequate cooling for the Revodrive and Video Cards all being so close together.

Will the motherboard I have selected here allow the Revo to run at 4x PCIE speed?

Should this cooler clear my case? Will my ram clear the heat synch? Does this seem like a overall good cooling strategy?

Looking at Corsair Dominator Ram.

You should get real fans. The numbers they claim are absolutely impossible. I'd suggest Delta if you want absolute performance, Panaflo/San Ace for quality. I've also seen a lot of suggestions for the Scythe fans, but I've never personally run one myself.

It all comes down to what you want out of the heatsink.

I'd like something quiet that I can keep my 2600k temps at a reasonable level for everyday use at 5.2 ghz.

I was hoping to get some thoughts on the case etc...

I am a proud and happy owner of the Fortress FT02B. The cases that point air upwards are great performers, just be aware that you may have to deal with the case being slightly bent out of shape. The case you are looking at is the newer version of my case, and while it's undoubtedly a great performer I can't speak too much as there is a lot changed. Upward air is a great idea and it drastically improves cooling when you have multiple graphics cards. In a typical case one of the two GPU's will be warmer than the other. In cases like this, they're pretty much even.

my suggestion here is to order through amazon, because likely something will be bent. Get on the horn with support and likely they'll give you a refund you partially to simply keep the case.

I have the silverstone raven rv01 its BEAUTIFUL. But that aside I suggest you upgrade the fans to the newer silverstone ones as they don't push air very well. Also see if you can cut a hole somewhere else to put another fan is as i found the problem is that the air doesn't simply go into the case very well.
