TI4200 question

do you know what speed your ram is? usually the Ti4200s came with 3.3ns or 3.7ns memory. the 3.3 you could possibly get ~700MHz with. i had the 3.7ns on my MSI Ti4800SE and it clocked up to 330/680 with good cooling.

how can I tell?

yeah good question how can i tell as well, as im thinking OCING my little bugger once i finish hacking up a waterblock for it in my spare time.

Drak55,

The newer TI4200 came with faster memory of the 64mb cards (500mhz vs. 444mhz). You have the 444mhz memory.

I had that card up to 328/585 with no artifacts but used it everyday at 300/550. When I bought it back in May, it was one of the fastest Ti4200 128mb cards available. I think sometime in July or August they started shipping 128mb cards with the faster memory but it was also more expensive (I think I paid $135 for that card).

Here's a LINK to the review that made me choose that card.

mine did 594/300 then i watercooled it and added heatsinks to the ram chips, couldnt get anymore out of the ram, adding some more volts 1.6v core to 311, vcore to 1.8 got to 327
331 with 1.8v (max volts i can select) crashed in 3dmark 2001se so i think i maxed out.

whats peoples opinion of running sys frequencies when overclocking, like when overclocking cpus ie 600/300?

or doesnt it really matter much

i would also recommend people running stock coolin remove heatsink stuff and put some better heatpaste on it, on the ram chips sometimes not all of the chips were evenly covered in heatpaste.

i also noticed a temperature senser under the heatsink, does anyone know of software that works with the msi to monitor temperature

i have the MSI ti4200 in my sig... 621/334 that is on water with copper sinks on the memory and the 2 135 cfm fans blowing over it from my heatercore. before watercooling all i could get out of the card was 608/290 so i did get a boost from water.... the program u can use to check the temp on the card... it came with the card, called MSI turbo experiance, it will also allow u to adjust the memory and core clocks. with my setup i can get just over 15,000 in 3dmark 01se

is yours a 4x or 8x?

Hey Albert. I've been playing with a 2.6c (which sucks) and some Mushkin pc 3500 Lvl II (not as good as my Twinmos). I'm back to my 2.4c and Twinmos pc3700. I had a few guys tell me I had a nice car when I had the Porsche avatar and didn't want to tell everyone it wasn't mine so I put my own car there :D.

I don't know how much better that card will do with water. I'm guessing not much more than you have now. I'd put a big fan over it before w/c'ing it.

Have you figured out o/c'ing your cpu/mem?

about the W/C'ing its not as much for O/C'ing as it is for the look of it.

and no I still dont have a clue how to overclock everything correctly. I have an NF7-S and an XP2800. why do I spend all this money. cant leave well enough alone.

P.S. you can tell that pic was taken in the summer here.

That's true. It's much quieter than having 11 fans in your case.

We're gonna have to get together one day and o/c that system of yours. :D

The pic was taken in CA a couple of years ago when I lived there.
