i listen with my z560, then i switch to my koss portapros with rap music and i hear horrible bass!! noooo i thought my portapros had good bass. now its wimpy!!

i got the portapros for 30 bux at amazon and ive seen them sell for like 40 for new ones on ebay so i can prob sell for around 25 on ebay

now im lookin for decently priced headphones with NICE bass. i know sr60 are nice but iunno bought the bass. i listen to everything (rap to classical) except reggae. but bass is way more important compared to like equal (like i listen to more rap/techno compared to like classical)

any suggestions?

im lookin for around under 65. hope not to break that and get carried away as all of us at oc-forums do :)

thanks!

would hd 280 be a better bet? because they have 10 dollar rebate now.

i got the 80s, and they sound everybit as good as the HD-600 just arent as nice feeling on your ears. they arent uncomfortable, they just arent AS comfortable.

be careful though, after you start listening to Hi-Fi, a considerable portion of your budget is gonna go to a new hobby. (its worth it though)

so sr80 or hd280?

if sr80 where can i find them cheap? would ebay be a good idea?

thnx

edit: o ya i dont have an amp. headroom says "Tighter and more neutral than the SR60, but they require an amp not to sound murky." so is sr80 still worth it compared to sr60?

what are you gonna use them with? with a good stereo or home theater reciever you will not have any probs. with a portable CD player, they are not gonna sound too good.

i actualy bought a amp for about 50 bucks from a dude in canada that makes them as a hobby, and im pretty impressed with it. but the only thing you need one for is low power stuff like portables, and even then you can still use them you just cant crank it up and you dont get much (if any) bass.

so if you use them plugged straight into you comp sound card or if you want to use them with a portable and you dont want to get an amp, then go for the sr60 then.

just ordered hd280 because of rebate. i can cancel right away if there are any objections. just bought because of price. any downsides to this compared to the grados?

thanks

i wont be using much with my cd player. just like computer etc.

does any1 know how are sennheiser rebates? i dont think theres tracking.

thnx
