Can someone look at this and let me know if I am heading in the right direction or to the cliff.

Basically I want the smallest chassis possible to leave by the TV stand and use the TV as the monitor.
Not sure if this is a good chassis I don't want to cook the PC.

Would a laptop work better? Considering the price your at without ram there are quite a few gaming laptops that would be as good or better than what you have.

If for sure you want a HTPC gamer. The R5 1400 comes with the wraith stealth cooler, more than good enough for stock and even light OC'ing and should fit fine. As for ram, some 3200 FlareX or something off the QVM for the board.
What kind of TV and gaming? If 4K I am guessing pretty light gaming with a 1050 ti.

Save yourself a few bucks and grab https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nG...c-mini-itx-am4-motherboard-ab350-gaming-itxac instead?

B350 still OC's, and the 1400 isn't a 'beast' really, so it'd be just fine on that and with the stock cooler as mentioned above.

The case should be fine, both components are relatively low power. I wouldn't be worried if you like that styling/style case. RAM just pick something 'ryzen compatible' ideally 2933-3200mhz if possible. G Skill Flare X works well here.

Now you have me thinking, But it was my believe that laptop degrade way faster than a dedicated PC, Im I wrong?

I just realized that the 1050ti seem to be way under the GTX 780 PC that I already have with the Intel i5 4670k. This PC is already like 4yr old and is still going strong.
Would the setup I choose for the tiny PC last me about 5-6 yr from today?

If you want to do some real tiny gaming:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N1080IX-8GD#kf

You do get a slower wifi with the B350 version but if your gonna be wired that won't matter or if your router doesn't support the faster speed.
It seem that one is too wide to fit

Its typically heat prematurely kills most laptops. Use a laptop cooling pad and perform regular maintenance keeping fans and vents clean I don't see why it wouldn't last a good amount of time.

If you really want something that will last for that kind of time, consider getting a 1600X. The extra base clock and cores will help it last much longer.

As for gpu the GTX 780 will be a little faster in most games but not by a whole lot and in some the 1050 ti may pull ahead.

So your basically getting about the same gpu power as you have now. Not sure why the mini gtx 1080 would be to wide? It's obviously much more expensive than a 1050 ti. Its not even out yet I don't think. Not sure the mini 1070 is sold out. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125893

Do you absolutely have to go this size? A slightly larger case that could accommodate a full size card would make things much easier.
This one uses a pcie riser to allow for a full size board though you don't want anything to massively thick.

Comes with psu but can get it without also.

4/5 years with a cpu on which the IPC is already less than intel offering, and frequency well behind won't happen.

Edit: a [email protected] is already at least 10% faster than the Ryzen@4GHz on single threads apps.

4.5Ghz, not sure I would be OC'ing anything in a toaster box. The airflow is going to be pretty minimal as it is. Any GPU more powerful than the 1050 ti will be putting out even more heat. At stock speeds the 1600X is right there in single thread and kills it in multi. Now the 7600K is more in line with the price of the 1600X and likely has a little more edge.

I think it would be much better in my case to go about this size, that way I could just leave it next to the PlayStation by the media center connected to the TV. I have the desktop on the adjacent wall, that way I could play with the kid in the game room.
And hopefully a small case would keep thing cooler to prolong the life of the PC, but like you mentioned it seem that laptop need more attention as far as heat is concerned.

As per Silverstone - Single or dual slot low profile up to 6.9" (175mm), width restriction-2.95" (74mm) that why I said it might not fit but I am not sure.

That Fractal Design case look nice and is not a whole lot bigger only 10.2 liters the price is not exaggerated like some other I have seen in that size.
Thinking twice it might even dissipate more heat that the tiny ML09 as it would be used mostly for gaming and not just to surf the internet.

What would be a good happy medium a 1060 in the fractal case and go with Intel?
also is a full board better or stick with the itx

hmm I might have to reconsider the whole setup then.
My desktop is stock, no OC as of now and is running the game Maxed out at over 130FPS and considering this is a OLD setup I am impressed.
I would build a new one and post back.

what about this new list.
I read some review about the Node 202 poor thermal performance, not sure if they had installed the 120mm fans or not
jump to 2:00 mark for review, they also mentioned the raven at 3:50 and that one did have way better thermal performance but I believe they had the fans on.

If not in a hurry, wait for coffee lake next month: you will have 10% higher IPC and 2 extra cores for roughly the same price.

wow more to consider the i5 8600k look good, do you know if the mITX boards would be readily available or would that be a few more months?
Thanks.

If overclocked your current system would beat the ryzen in the first post in every game.
Save for a new gaming system =) (cl) then use the 4670 in the TV gamer , with a 100$ aio . 4.5-4.7 should be doable

Unless you're just doing some light gaming and you're okay without running max settings, I would look at the GTX 1060. The GTX1060 can run most games at high settings at 1080p and hold around 60 FPS. The 1050Ti might not be able to hold 60 FPS at maximum settings at 1080p on all games.
