if youre playing around with some utility or tweaker program you may have disabled the AGP, thsi will force the system to work with the video card in the PCI compatibility mode.
look for this setting in the powerstrip, not in the display properties. open powerstrip and see if there is no option like "enabling/disabling AGP". i not use powerstrip..
the only way i know to set the video card to work in the PCI compatibility mode is using some kind of tweaker program - rivatuner can also do that; but its possible there is a bios setting for this. try looking in your bios for something like this..
