My 5.0 and 3.3 rails have always ran at about .05 below spec(and sometimes up to .08 less), so I decided to crack it open and see if I could turn up the 3.3 and 5 rails. As you can see I was successful.. I this too much though??? If it is, what would be the ideal values????

My system:

ECS K7S5A
XP 1700@1652 1.89v (150 FSB, unstable at times)
256 megs 2.5cl DDR 2.7v Don't know the brand, but the chips have "elixir" on them..
GF2Ti
SB Live

My PS is a Fortron/Source FSP 350-60BN. (same thing as Sparkle I am told)

hi scandalous, welcome to the forums!

your 3.3V looks fine to me- my system runs the 3.3V line at 3.53 by default, and it's never been a problem. Makes the RAM more tolerant of an OC.

The 5V, tho- that looks to be way to high to me. Mine as never gone higher than 5.05V. Can't say for sure if it is bad, but personally I would try to lower it.

How did you go about 'turning up' those rails?

Thx for the welcome...:)

I just opened up the PSU and found 3 small pots. 1 has a direct effect on the 5v and 12v rails, another has an effect on the 3.3 and the third seems to do nothing at all...

Turned down the 5v to this...

right on, I'll have to look in mine and see if I can find a way to adjust it...my 5V line sags a bit.

5.29 looks better than it was- what I would do is adjust it so that under full load it drops to exactly 5V, that would probably be safest. but 5.29 is probably close enough.
