Whats the best motherboard for an ATI Radeon 9700 pro...i dont think a nforce2 chip would like a ATI Radeon 9700 pro in it.

I am thinking of upgrading a couple of things in my rig

Lol yeah it'll work despite them being competing companies and all. Most reviewers of the new nforce boards are using Radeon 9700's and they've had no problems.

Yea, I think all the reviews of nForce 2 boards that test the graphics used the 9700. But now that I think of it, did anyone ever had a problem putting an ATI card in the original nForce?

I haven't seen it anywhere else, but I had serious issues with the AIW features of my AIW Radeon 8500DV in my MSI nForce board (and no response in any form from ATI support!). Works flawlessly in my other systems. The display part worked fine, though so I don't think the 9700 would have issues in an nForce or nForce2 board.

Actually, there has been a big issue with nVidia video cards in some nForce boards while using the onboard audio! It's been concluded that it's probably a driver issue, and nForce2s don't seem to have the problem.

For nForce and nForce2 info, you may want to check nForcersHQ. I've found some good stuff there.
