At the title states I would like to flash the BOIS to a newer one (hopefully one that will recognize my AthlonXP 2500+)

I have tried to follow the ECS website instructions... but had no luck. Any and all help would be great...

(I am really frustrated since this is the first MB that I could not flash....)

Booting to DOS via floppy I presume?

EDIT: there are many versions of this board. Sure you got the right BIOS?

K7S5A Version 3.1B, 3.1 and 1.1

K7S5A Pro, Version 5.0

K7S5A+ V1.0

Try K7S5A forums

I've gotten around DOS flashing problems by:

1. Using an older version of MS-DOS, like 6.22 or 5.0

2. Not loading the high memory and upper memory drivers, EMM386.EXE and HIMEM.SYS

3. Unplugging all IDE drives, including CD and DVD.

4. Using a different flash program, like UNIFLASH.
