Hello i recently bought a Apollo Devil Monster 2 with the Ati 8500 chipset
i am having some very unusual conflicts with this board and the rest of my
system
my system is main stats
CPU: AMD Athlon xp1800
mainboard: Solotek SL-75drv4
memory: 512mg pc2100

I have installed the drivers on the disk, the ones on the maunfactures site and the lates ones from ATI and non helped the problem
and the ones for my mainboard have been updated
I have looked everything over and have no conflicts that i can find, and have run the directX diognstics for both direct 3d and Direct Draw and they run perfect and no trouble.
but when i try to use any of my games such as Quake3 Gothic or
Allied Assult, it starts to load, flickers, then the screen turns to
horizontal colored lines, for a moment say a minute then the screen turns black and does nothing.
there is no way out of the program, and i must hit the reset button to boot up again.
i also put my card in a friends computer and it worked fine for him with ATis new drivers, and Also i put his Nvidia card in mine and my computer worked fine with correct drivers.
im stumped on this one, i havent done any overclocking yet and have tried the solutions i know about all for a big 0

what advice help can you give me for this problem
let me know somthin or any more info you might need.

I have the same exact card as you. I have had that problem your having with the collored lines happen to me once. And the black screen once so far. But this was only while running 3D mark 2001 SE. All games seem to work fine so far.

I have a similar problem with the colored lines, except this only happens to me after I try to overclock it. It must just be the system it is in. It is in a compaq right now. The one in my sig is a different, home-made system.
