Okay guys. I just tried a 900 wat PSU and it is acting the same. How likely is it that the SLI connector is bad??

I cant run any games. When i load them I get the driver crash error. Its the same error i got with the 650 wat. yeah the 900 wat i have now is sli ready.

I think your problem lies more in the combo of the MSI 970A-G46 and FX 6300 combo. The MSI boards have been a real pain with the FX's. Can you put up a signature listing your components?
Just for S**ts and giggles drop your ram speed back and see if the games still crash.

I remember this now... 99% of the time a psu won't run if the power limit is exceeds spec... So its not a power issue any more. Also may of never been power. The next thing is checking CPU/mobo/gpu.

Each graphics card runs on its own and has for months.. No issues with either card. the only common denominator is the SLI bridge.. There should be a trouble shooting program for this.. Motherboard and CPU are very new.. One of these 460s was in a sli setup with another computer and i was told that it hadnt been working.. So the only thing that ive added to my system is that 460 and the sli connector.. so the only thing it could be would be the SLI connector.. Unless there is some way that one of the 460s be broken in a way that affected it running in SLI and nothing else.

Ive tried the processor at stock, but i have it at 4.6. Ive got 1 4gb stick and 2 2gb sticks all at 1333. the 2gbs are 1600.. ive got a regular 7200 rpm hdd and a 900 wat psu. pretty bare.

My computer runs 24/7 with both cards in and SLI disabled.. even with it enabled it works as long as i dont boot a game.

This is always a recipe for issues when you put more strain on the system. When you're running 2 cards it puts more demand on the IMC and Ram. And mismatched ram unless painstakingly set up will always cause problems when OC'd and working.

I agree it "could" be a bad bridge but how hard is it to pull out the 4Gig stick and give it a shot? Not hard.

Next let's talk about the underpowered mobo you're trying to run all this stuff in.

That VRM section is barely capable of running that CPU. At your 4.6 Overclock did you do any stability testing?? Prime95 run for a couple hours.

The symptoms you're describing fall into to that catagory. Everytime you try to push it, it gives up on you cause there just isn't enough power there. That's why initially people thought it was a PSU issue just by the symptoms.
The difference is I've spent a lot of time helping people in the AMD forum who want to OC a power hungry FX chip with a MOBO such as yours and end up with these types of problems.
