any one using a Volcano 7? How does it perform? Any tips to make it cool better?
I have high temps, 50-53c full load(bios temp)...and I wonder if I could do better w/ this fan..can anyone using this fan post their results?

Just got a 6 degree drop in temp...I took off the Fan/HS and took off some of the sil more silicone and spread it evenly over the copper(thats where it was collecting)...I also was dangerously close of getting the silicone on the bridges..good thing I cleaned it up. I reapplied the fan/HS and got a immediate drop in temps...I also had a idea that my P/s (enermax) may be robbing my fan of it's cool air. The enermax exhaust sits right above the volcano...so I put a tube up to the volcano so it's cool air was not being robbed and coming from outside the case.and again a 2 degree drop.
Mystery Solved:D

Do you guys know whether or not this heatsink may have some incompatibility issues w/ some motherboards where the capacitator gets in the way? I have a gigabyte 7drx w/ a 1.4 TB w/ a noisecontrol silverado. The problem is that a capacitator gets in the way on one corner and the only way to fix this is to grind the corner edge of the HS which i wouldn't like to do. I'm not really happy w/ my current temps so i'm thinkin about ditchin the silverado and possibly gettin a hs that can fit an 80mm fan. .

I am not familiar w/ your board in particular but do know that the Volcano 7 is tapered. So the H/S fits nice on my board(a7v133) and the H/S tapers out as it rises to meet the 80mm fan.
If asus report temps 10c too high, than my Vocano 7 is giving me temps at about 36c...I personally think that it is around 40-41c(current temp-46c). If anyone has any temps from a volcano7 they would like to share, please record them here....I would like to compare:)

I bent the capacitor on my Gigabyte 7DXR a little and put on the best there is: Alpha PAL8045. I know quiet a few others who have done the same thing. I used a silent Papst fan and that system has given me one blue-screen during the 7 months I've had it.
