I think that intel has to be the dumbest corporation going, there is not much of a market at present for people to buy a brand new p3 system with palamino due soon and the p4 being their 'high end' chip, tualatin should have been a duron level upgrade for s370 and slocket systems and should have been pin compatable with fc-pga chips, there is no reason for it not being other than intel wanting people to buy new boards, and with the price are they are aiming it at people just aren't going to be willing, an intel egineer over at hardocp forums said that a slot 1 slocket for tualatin was possible but wouldn't be profitable or would cost around $100.
