OK, Ive narrowed it down to the Audigy 2 and Revo.

If the Audigy 2 can guarantee NO installation problems, I would go for that... we'll see.

I heard both sides to both cards. Im not sure.

I wouldn't expect NO installation problems, for sure. Sound cards can be finicky sometimes, especially with all the resources tied up with other things in today's computers. My machine is stable now, but required a lot of card swapping to get it that way.

By the way, I have the TBSC and love it.

thanks ken.

Yea of course, nothing can ever go 100% smoothly.

To be honest with ya, Im not sure what Im going to get at this point...

I hear the TBSC is an awesome card, as is the Revo and Audigy 2.

We'll see what happens.

I am gonna get an Audigy2 soon and the brand new Cambridge THX 6.1's.

As for the Soundblaster Live problems, I used only the drivers that came on the cd, if I installed any updates I would lose the rear speakers on my 4.1 setup. Also, the installation program on the cd didn't work anyway, so I had to install them manually.

Soundblaster is a little buggy but great once you close and stop all the stupid programs that it installs. SOund Quality is excellent.

Well, I upgraded form my Audigy to an Audigy 2 and I have zero problems. I don't loose my rear speakers any more. The sound is clear and crisp. I have the card hooked up to Logitech Z-680's. And I am so happy!:D This card rox these speakers but I think there is still some head room left in them cause when I turn the volume up to max there is no distortion or anything, they still still have some more left in them. I wonder if the revo card would top these babies out?

Wow Krag nice system.

Im thinking now about the Hurcules 7.1. I heard good things about it.

I know Audigy 2 tops em all, so well see. Im not going to make the purchase until another week or so, I still got time to make the decision.

Thanks.

The sound card does not amplify the sound, the amplifier is integrated in the subwoofer of your Z680 set. As such, a soundcard can not "max the speakers out". Also, distortion is a bad thing and points to inferior speakers. The best speakers put out their top volume without any distortion.
