I just upgraded to Windows XP  and was having a problem with my TV Wonder VE. I also have a Radeon 32MB DDR vid card. The TV picture was distorted with horizontal lines, although the audio worked good.

I went to the ATI site, and they said that, if you have a Radeon, installing the ATI driver instead of the Windows driver might help (the Windows driver is crappy for the Radeons, doesn't support OpenGL).

That didn't do it, so I went to plan B. According to ATI, changing the resolution while the tuner is on is a "work-around" and will get it to clear up. Sure enough, that works, but you have to do it each time.

Just a heads up with regard to the TV tuner. And, if you haven't yet, use the official ATI driver instead of the Windows XP one.

I have the TV Wonder and I've noticed this issue as well.... however, my card wouldn't work at all under WinXP until I got the new Multimedia center (which came with the updated drivers).

This is a problem for many, many people, me included.

ATi really should try and figure it out.

A workaround is to press CTRL while opening up TV, but again you have do it each time.

www.rage3d.com forums are a good place to watch because people are always looking for a fix

My TV Wonder has never worked since i got it, it's been on repair or whatever they do home in Canada (Ati) i think but the problem i had was that i couldn't use PAL.
I cant select any PAL countries on the list when you setup multimedia center :(

Cool, I will try that too. I am sure ATI is trying to figure it out, but it seem to me that M$ kinda handed it to them...

Not only with the crappy Radeon driver (I wouldn't have even thought to use the ATI version because the XP version *seemed* to be fine). But also with this TV thing. Mine worked great before.

This must only be an issue with the TV Wonder VE because I used to use the TV Wonder USB and I'm now using the Radeon All-In=Wonder 8500DV and XP with no problems. A friend of mine is running the Radeon All-In-Wonder on XP with no issues.

This is definitely an issue with TV Wonder VE, Windows XP and the Radeons. I thought it was limited to the 8500 but I guess it is occuring with the first Radeon.

The only fix that I have been able to do is to go install the 3286 drivers. Kinda sucks that you have to limit yourself to an older driver to get this product to work with one of ATI's other products.

Yes, the VE and the regular PCI full stereo version.

The prob. with the Radeon drivers is only if you use the XP provided drivers.
