I just went to Ubid sight.. they have this new UBuy policy, where they set the price for a buy out WAY too high.

Example:

ATi Radeon 8500 Ubid buy price = $189

Pricewatch price = $139

I used to like Ubid, but now all they are good for is blenders and ab machines. At least you can bid normally on a monitor. (some of them)

What's really sad are the suckers bidding for sometimes TWICE what a product is worth!

I have a bad history with ubid.

Never bought there myself, went there once though after a buddy got burned on a monitor. Well, I guess you could say he got burned, it took them 12 weeks to ship him the monitor!!

I used to buy a lot of stuff off Ubid. Most of the time I
had no problems whatsoever. However, they had a
major software upgrade last November/December
and they messed everything up. It's really hard to
talk to a person when there is a problem and
even when you do it's like hours on hold. You also
get these stupid auto-response emails if you use
the web to report problems. The real killer is they
make you wait at least 10 business days before
they even look into a problem---even when it is
their fault.

That company used to be great, but now it really sucks.
Stay away from Ubid. They are headed for the
big business crash. They make too many people
very mad.

Yup, that's what happens to many companies. They start out small and are hungry for business, so they treat their customer very well to keep them coming back.

All of a sudden they've "arrived" (made the big time) and thats when customer service goes all to he**. Kind of makes me wonder if companies like that had their customers in mind from the start, or were just out to make alot of money.
