Ubuntu GPU-folding stuck with BAD_WORK_UNIT loop

Hello, dear team members!
I'm recently trying to set up folding in ubuntu with my old 560ti gpu.
I've managed to setup V7 client, setup gpu slot (cpu folding is done via v6 client on the same machine).
The problem is: it downloads a WU, and when it is supposed to start working on it, it says BAD_WU, downloads a new one, and the loop goes on.

I've tried adding and removing the ADVANCED flag for GPU slot - same result.
OS is Ubuntu 12.04 with all the updates, kernel ver: 3.13.0-43-generic, Nvidia proprietary drivers installed, ver. 331.113 - recomended by Ubuntu.

Also, it's worth to mention, that this GPU ran folding for 1.5-2 years in the past, had some thermal stress (70-78C), and had NAN problems afterwards (Not a Number - calculation errors). However, it runs games fine, including in Linux.

So what can be done?
 
Also, i've noticed that it says 'CUDA - not detected', but other forum says, that CUDA is only relevant for Windows.

That is probably caused by degraded GPU, rather than software problem: I've tried running it in Windows, with win drivers: it still gives the Bad WU errors.

Although it seems to run games fine, including a short test in Linux, it's probably a card degraded/damaged by folding, some of it under high temps (like 78C), and thats the reason for failing WU's.
 
that's what it's looking like to me, a bad gpu.

but please let this thread simmer a while, someone might have an idea or two.
 
Have you tried turning the fan speed up to maximum? Perhaps its just over heating at too low a fan speed.
 
orion456, yes. The card currently has an aftermarket cooler plugged directly into molex, the temps at folding load are about 55C or lower, so it's not overheated now.
Robert17, im actually done trying making it fold, its probably a damaged/degraded GPU.
 
I've had similar issues with an MSI branded 560 Ti. I could not get the card to work in two machine but it worked great in a third machine. All three machines were Windows based. Worked in 8.1 but not in Vista or SBS 2008. All 64 bit.
