Checked. The BIOS have no multiplier settings, and the software that came with it refuses to open.

I am talking about changing the cpu ratio setting away from default - is that not possible? (as it may open up your multi options). Dont go looking for something that merely says multiplier as you wont find that in your bios it will be under a cpu or system setting.

I checked. The settings are on expert and aggressive. There is nothing for the multiplier. As I said, there is software that comes with it to set it, yet it doesn't start.

Everything that was on s stock setting is now on a highest setting. There is just no-where to change it. Would it help to get a screenshot of the BIOS?

Yes. THere is nothing between the System Performance and FSB frequency.
BTW, mine's nto an Ultra.

So, would the Wire Trick work? The one that unlocks the frequencies.

Yes you could use wire trick or amend L3 bridges to change the multi if you wanted. Although an 11.5 multi is quite good depending on what RAM you have.

RAM is PC2700 (DDR333). Also, this chip (JIUHB) is supposed to be good at OCing. Y can't it get any higher on the FSB?

*Bump*
Can someone answer me? Why isn't the FSB going higher? It should do 200, but can only go to 142, 140 stably. Also, do I _have_ to use the wire trick to change the FSB, or is it just a preference setting I'm missing?

I believe you should be able to set the multiplier in bios...whether the cpu will work or not is another thing. I have a locked Thorton 2400 on A7N8X..I can set multiplier to anything, but it does not stay set. It stays at the default 15x.

Your bios should let you choose multiplier, whether or not your processor is locked. There's a good chance the your processor isn't locked. I think you should choose something in the bios along the lines of "Manual" for CPU Speed. I'll check up on that when I reboot.

Well, I have no setting. Not that it's grayed out, it's NOT THERE. Perhaps the BIOS are old and I should update them?
