Hi I just tried to unlock an athlon xp for the first time.
could anyone take a look and see if it looks ok?
I'm wating on a heatsink so I haven't got to test
it out as of yet.

yeah, it looks fine. what did you use?

that stepping in your sig... is that an xp stepping? it sorta looks like a tbird stepping to me but i dunno.

oops, just looked at the pic again and the one in you sig is a separate 1.4 tbird. the whole 1.4 got me cuz it was an xp1600 and i assumed that was it. heh

great, thanks for the ok check

used the superglue and defogger repair kit method

yep, i'm selling the tbird and moving on up an xp
i just need to get my heatsink in and i'll be ready to go

Did you scratch the clear covering off of the little copper dots? The green based chips are coated, unlike the brown ones.

doh, don't say that.
I never heard of doing that so no I didn't scratch any covering off of the dots.

Might not be a concern....

I just unlocked a pair of these, now running in my duallie, and didn't "scratch the dots" on either.

Both are "green" AGOIA "Y"'s.

Try to run it first, and if you have problems, know that this is one possibility.
