Sorry about the 170 fsb but thats where i had it when i though i would just try the multiplier

So i am not crazy...but how!, I though all bartons where locked. did i get an old stepping or something before they got locked?

all bartons after week 39 are locked! nice find...whered you get it?

He has a week 37 2003 not 2004 so
It's expected since:
• Some 2003 weeks 35 to 43 are locked, some are not

Although new desktop Bartons are multiplier locked, they tend to overclock further so, if you have quality RAM that can go way into 200s FSB, even if the CPU is locked, you're better off because the resulting speed tends to be higher,

MHz speed = [FSB] x multiplier

if you have 2003 unlocked Barton capable of 2.3 GHz, that's not better than, say, 2004 locked 2500+ Barton capable of 2.4 GHz, if, that's if you have RAM and mobo capable of going to 218 FSB so that

218 x locked 11 = 2.4 GHz

is better than

whichever combination of FSB x unlocked multiplier to get = 2.3 GHz

My 3200+ is locked but it hits 2426 and still maintains stability with higher ram timings.........also when i change the multiplier it shows that it is changed in wcpuid but the clock speed doesn't do anything, set your fsb at 166 and then change the multiplier and see if it does the default clock speed
