Killed my Vp-6 the other day. Posted on here that I scraped a few memory traces with my screwdriver. Well, I've had my new board for 3 days, and I was getting ready to make repairs to the old one. Figured I would buy a 700 Cyrix to get me by until I could get Dual 1gigs for it.

Well I was piddle farting around with it and put my thumb on the CMOS. And it creaked. I though....NO WAY. It was loose. I pushed it back in the socket, and that board fired right up. Turns out it wasn't the memory traces it was the dreaded CHIP WALK!

Man i haven't seen a chip walk out of it's socket in years. Thought they solved that issue. And I spent $140 for a new VP-6....if my wife sees this post she'll KILL ME!

that's funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had some thing like that happen, I had a PS take out my bh6 which was 2 years old and I went out and got a be6 ii v2 and a new PS and then (laughs to himself) Abit rma'd the bh6.

Good Show!
