I'm considering upgrading my case from the Cooler Master HAF XM. I honestly really love this case, and i'm sad that CM has discontinued it however it's gotten a little banged up over the years so i'm considering upgrading if i can find something comparable. Which is why i'm here.

I don't plan on doing any water cooling, and i also don't care much for the latest trend of RGB LED lights everywhere. I like the HAF XM due to it's cooling capacity, and right now have it stocked with (1) 200mm BitFenix fan up front, (1) 200mm BitFenix fan on the side, (2) 200mm BitFenix fans on top, and (1) 140mm BitFenix fan on the rear.

I'd like to keep the fans, and just move them over to a new case, so i'm looking for something that has high airflow, and will accept the fans i currently already have.

Also, since the XM is a Mid Tower case, i'm looking to keep the same form factor.

What's out there for 2019? What would be a great high air flow modern case that i could upgrade to, and that you all recommend?

Thanks!

The Cooler Master H500 series come to mind. They are a bit RGB-y but you can replace them with your fans. Not sure how many 200m fans they can hold though.

The problem you are going to run into is few case manufacturers are implementing the 200mm fans these days and have been focusing on 120 & 140mm fans. Still, there are a few out there. Here are a few that come to mind. The first 2 I can vouch for as high quality cases. I have hands on experience with them and wouldn't hesitate to use them in a build. The last one I have read good things about and there are quite a few users here that have recommended it.

Cooler Master SL600M

Cooler Master H500P Mesh (Make sure it's the Mesh. The Non-mesh has airflow issues.)

Thermaltake Core X9 (This is a cube style, but fits your needs.)

If you'd like to see other options I have made a fairly extensive list of recommended cases over the years. It is not all encompassing so I would suggest clicking the links after the manufacturers name to see other options from them.

P.S. I know there are some broken attachments in this thread. We are working to correct that.

I think you should scrap the idea of moving the fans over (the 200s) and just use what comes with or getting others. 200mm fans have certainly lost favor from years ago.

Thank you! I've noticed the 200mm fan situation. I just hate to replace them as fans aren't cheap, and i literally just purchased these units a little over a year ago. But, it is what it is.

I looked at this case on their site and it looks like it could be a decent replacement.

As stated above, i just hate to replace fans that i purchased just over a year ago. But, it's looking more and more like leaving the 200mm fans behind is what i may have to do.

Looks like the H500P Mesh is the direction to go, after watching some reviews. I still think the HAF XM is the better case, but unfortunately CM decided to discontinue it rather than improve upon it.

Now i just need to make the decision on whether i'm going to pull the trigger or not.

Thanks everyone for your help.

So, here's another idea for you Aerpelding, most quality cases come with fairly decent fans pre-installed (as Alaric is alluding to). Why not just find a good case that fits your needs and shelf your extra 200's. You could also list them on ebay/craigslist and recoup a portion of what you spent. Just a couple more ideas.

I have been impressed with all the Phanteks fans I've had (one CPU cooler [2x120], the 200 mm, and the two 140s that also came with my case. As for dinged up cases, there is always the modding/custom route. I picked up one of these https://www.paascheairbrush.com/product/vlst-3w/ and I'm just waiting for a chance to use it on a rig. LOL

edit: Corrected wrong link. Oops.

It sounds like you might be happier sticking with with your HAF XM.

I would like to, as i plan to completely upgrade my PC again when Intel reaches 7nm. And i'd like to hold off on a case until then. Hopefully there will be something even better available on the market. However the XM is a little banged up from a few mishaps, plus two of the motherboard stays aren't threading tight anymore.
My MB failed and i had to send it back to ASUS for repair under warranty, and it's in transit back to me.
The repaired board should be here tomorrow, so i'll find out then if i'm still able to continue to use the XM without issue. If not, i believe i've made my decision to go to the H500P Mesh.
