Upgrading CPU

I have a Duron 1.1 Ghz at 100 fsb. On 3DMark 2001 SE i get around 5000 marks. Is my Duron holding back my scores and framerates in games. If so what scores do you think i would get upgrading to an Athlon XP 1700+, or would it not be a great increase.

Yeah, almost anything can keep you from getting high scores/fps.

I would say go for the upgrade. Plus, AMD just cut prices on the 2200+ and below Not sure what they are now, but I heard a 2200+ would be only a little over $100USD

Yeah you can get a 1700 right now for $55!!! Go with the upgrade for $50 it's a great performance increase.

I'd say you'll be close to my 3DMark score afterwards. Check my sig.

I'd go with the Xp 1900........That's what i have and i love it.......Too bad it performs like **** cause of my crappy voodoo 5 I am currently using........I'm getting a new card for christmas though......Thank god........
