Im still using windows vista ultimate 64bit and I just got enough money to upgrade my software. Is it worth it to upgrade to windows7 ultimate? I mainly used by computer for games and internet, thats all. Will it increase the performance of my computer if I upgrade? here's my specs btw

Proc: Phenom II x3 oc'ed at 3.5ghz stable
Mobo: Asus M4A89gtd Pro usb3.0
Ram: 4gb DDR3 1600 cl7
V.Card: HD6950
HDD: 320gb sata and 1tb

I would just keep Vista and instead upgrade the HDD to a SSD, something along the lines of a 120GB M4 for ~$30.00 more than the Win7 Ult. upgrade, that is unless you absolutely need a 320GB drive for the OS.

unless you absolutely need a 320GB drive for the OS.

Well, Ive got a lot of games installed right now. BF3, AC:revelation, DIRT3 batman city, starcraft2, warcraft 3/dota and street fighter4. I play all of them, not at the same time but I get to play all of them in a week, I dont think it will fit on a 120gb. But a good suggestions anyway.

^ it will and you can buy an ocz caching ssd i think so if you dont have a z68 mobo you can use that instead of reistalling everything and win 7 ultimate is no different (proformance wise) from home primeum or pro. so go for this for $99

Get SSD for caching . Win 7 ulimate is overkill for what you are doing. If you really want win 7 get a cheaper version . I did the SSD thing and wow what a boost in load times.

Win7 Ultimate...ultimately as useless as Vista Ultimate was. Honestly, Home Premium is enough for most people.

I see, will upgrading my vista ultimate to win7 home premiom boost my performance? if not, ill just spend my money on hardware..

If you had money to burn and were due for an OS refresh anyway, I would say go for it.
