Upgrading

I have the opportunity to sell my CPU, MOBO, and RAM to a buddy looking to upgrade his PC. Now, will I see a noticeable boost in performance (gaming) by upgrading to DDR4 and either an i7-6700k or i7 -5930k from my current setup. I did some re-search and from what I've seen it wouldn't be worth it, but I would like to get input from you guys. I will for sure be adding another 980ti or one of the new nvidia cards in sli depending on which perform better.

I say it would depend on how much you would get back from your buddy and how much it would cost to build the new system. The 4790k and 6700k separate by about 5-10% on average during CPU-intensive tasks. During games it is almost always less than that.
