Hello,

Iwill MPX2, some heavy coolers and very old cpu's to experiment with (2x MP 1.2Ghz).

If i put bus from 133 to 135 then it seems to work fine except that my USB mouse is not working anymore! If i put it back to 133 directly usb ports working again.

Is this common if you overclock SMP systems?

So mouse is gone right from the start. Can never move it. It just ain't working.

Doesn't suprise me a lot. SMP boards ca kinda be finicky like that. Dunno what to tell you other than plug that sucker into the PS2 port if you've got an adapter.

Yeah, some USB adapters and some USB devices are pretty finicky about bus speeds. I can run my USB printer and scanner off of the USB @ 150 FSB, but I have heard several people say that they have had problems with USB mice at FSB lower than mine. It might be my motherboard's USB adapter, or it might just be your USB device.

USB mice are inferior to PS2 mice, generally, because they take more system resources to run and they don't always work with DOS mode programs, that's why I avoid them.

Logitech USB mouse works the same at 133 as it does at 170 on my mpx2, crap it is not really as smooth as a ps2 version.
This mouse would not work properly on a VIA P4PB400 with pci bus speeds as high as the mpx2, I had to boot with it unplugged and plug it in after windows had started. Needless to say the mouse went back to storage, where it had been sitting from when a mate got it for a via mvp3 k6 system. It never worked smoothly on that one, he swapped it for a ps2 one I had and was much happier.
My epson 1650 USB scanner, 250 USB powered zip and Logitech wingman force feedback all work at 170 fsb.
