I have just installed a new abit kt7a and all is going well except for the fact that every time I try to connect a usb device the system hangs just before loading windows (win me). I know I should be using win prof but my kids need win me for a lot of their games.
The usb irq for the 2 pci to usb prots is on irq 11 and is being shared with my isdn card. For the other 2 mobo usbs I have turned off the irq assignment in the bios.

Please help

on an unrelated topic is anyone having ay problems with sys mark 2001 it hangs my system all the time. Is there an alternative

I'm using Via 4-in-1 4.32. My USB printer is working like a champ. I just installed it last week, it's a HP 932C. Easiest install I ever did. I just plugged in the printer and then plugged in the USB, WinME detected it right off and asked for the driver disk. Presto.

I do have USB turned on in the BIOS as well. Give Via 4.32 a shot and see if that fixes your problem.
