I want to update this bios, but the only 8k5a2 bios update is for the + models. Can I use it or would it cause problems?

using 8k5a2+ bios on my 8k5a2 NON +

BIOS chips run like $200 to replace (factory)
Although there is a sticky, that some 1 can reprogram them.
BUT, e-mail / call the OEM Tech support to see if you are able to do this.
I really don't recommend it.
Certain items are model specific and could give you a "no boot" condition.

Actually there is a Beta BIOS for the 8K5A2, it is similar to Beta BIOS 2909 for the 8K5A2+
