v5 5500 O/C Kit. Is this thing worth the $$$ ???

I personally would not buy all that equipment, for the following reason..
the RAM heatsinks ?.. have you ever touched your ram, does it feel hot ?.. NO. so why does it need heat sinks ?
Personally speaking I would rather spend the money on a blue orb or if you can find the space on the card a something bigger and better.
It is also worth remembering that no HSF on your graphic card will give your FPS unless the reduction in temprature allows you to overclock it a bit more

Umm The RAM on my Vid card does get very hot to th etouch and has HS on them from the factory! But you are right that unless you OC the card your FPS will not increase!
 
I'd give a definite thumbs down. Cool your gpu's enough and the ram will not be as hot. I run the 5500 and put socket 7 hsf's on them. The memory is always room temp or so now.

Save yourself a ton of money and grab a couple of the old pentium coolers........that is as long as you have the clearance.
