Actually they just got a whole lot cheaper, $469 US.

The PE version (Premium Edition) is the one you want. It can dissipate 160 watts of heat. The SE (Standard Edition) can do 130, which will be tested by an overvolted processor.

It's slick the way it's integrated into one case. Supposed to be very quiet too. I got a Prometeia myself (its competitor) because it dissipates more, has a more efficient method for mounting the cooling head and can be retrofitted to any case (the Vapochill case doesn't hold many drives and looks funny).

Joe reviewed the Vapochill PE for the front page. Read it here.

Sure, and Joe also did a review of the Prometeia. You can find the link to his review here, along with all the other reviews.

Either system is the best turnkey cooling you can get aside from some Rube Goldberg contraption that you make yourself.

I was just wondering, has anyone refilled a vapochill or Prometeia with propane???I wonder how it would perform compared to that 134a crap they put in it.

I was thinking of getting a Vapochill (after I buy a house) because I don't like how the Prometeia looks, and the latter costs more. I actually LIKE to looks of the Vapochill and can't wait till I get my new place and one of these. As you can see in my sig, I am gradually getting the pieces to o/c the hella out of my chip with a Vapochill.

Propane?Am I hearing this correctly?

Ho -DonRamon,

Well yes there is a drawback with the Vapo. You have to be very careful if you tend to use an AMD XP CPU, as with their fragile cores, it's possible to break them with the Vapo (and the Prometeia as well). However if you go for P4, this is not the case at all.

I have both systems, and except from a few degrees higher temperatures on the Vapo VS the Prometeia, I can recommend the VapoChill in all other aspect.
