via 4 in 1's in xp?

According to what I have read here on the forum, no you don't. XP supports the via chipset, the only drawback is that you are limited to 2x on AGP.

There is a cure, however I don't remember what or where it is. I've been through so many topics the last few days I don't have a clue where I saw this at, I'll look around some more and if I come across it I'll let you know.
 
well has with anything u dont HAVE to do anything. :D Tho sometimes is highly recommended... like with the epox mobo it is probably suggested that u install the drivers to correct the chipset conflict prob. :D
 
I agree with ya Xprincox.

When I did my install of XP, I also did the 4 in 1 patch out of habit. This was before I learned it wasn't needed.

The system has ran fine with no probs., and I don't remember XP giving me any hassles about the via drivers.

So in my case it didn't hurt.

the 4 in 1s are for amd mobos utilizing via chipsets.
 
Run VIA 4 in 1 V 4.37 For XP
much better with them
XP has drivers for VIA but not the newist.don't use any other VIA stuff like the IDE tool, XP will not be happy
