Hailz all. I installed the latest Via drivers-they didn't seem to increase performance at all. Suspicious, I checked my hardware drivers-the Via drivers aren't registered!! The system has defaulted back to the M$ drivers XP shipped with. Tried to reinstall the Via drivers-after reboot, same thing. Same problem with the 4.37's. They seem to install, but after reboot, they are clearly missing. Can I manually extract the files somehow, and if so, what ones? Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure you have to install them in win 98 compatibility mode. Do a search on win 98 compatibility and VVia 4 in 1's and XP. That should lead to some hits. Sorry I can't be more help.

From what I understand Win XP has native support and the Via drivers are uneccessary. I just remember reading about it. Over at Viahardware. I could be wrong ?

I know one of the beta's of XP Pro would start installing SCSI adapters after you installed the VIA 4in1's. Never heard of doing that in compatiblity mode though. I always just run the .exe and let Windows sort it out.

Usually if Windowsupdate doesn't find an updated driver....I leave it alone.

theres no prob with any of the drivers and XP. i have been using them since 4.32's and the kt266. the 4.38's are real nice
