Video Camera?

I think i might get a video camera in the price range of 500-600 dollars. any recommendations before i go off and look through a billion reviews?

the sony doesn't have a built in light, but it has night shot... and the canons weakness is in low light, but then its got a built in light. i have no idea which to go with... anyone have either of these?
