well I go to lan partys almost ever other week now and Im tierd of carrying around a full tower so Im building a new cheap system that will give me ok proformance.

thinking about getting a
ECS K7VZM MOTHERBOARD
Duron 700 cpu
256 megs of memory
300 watt powersupply
MAXTOR 15.3 GB 7200 rpm hard drive
and a 13" x 5½" x 14" ammo box for a case
now wondering what video card to get under lets say $65

maybe a geforce 2 mx
any idea?
I want a ok fps in tribes2 and when Teamfortress2 comes out I also want a ok fps in that do you thing the mx can handle it?

well, for around $65 id go with a radeon. i think the radeon le is about that much, and the radeon 32 ddr miht be down there now. the le can perform as well as the ddr if you flash its bos or something like that. not sure how to do it offhand but im sure someone here has done it and knows.

planing on overclocking alot so I think I will go with the mx and maybe turn it into a quando

has anyone played with it in Tribes two or unreal tournament? on atleast 800x600 resolution?

I would go with geforce 2 mx 200. Often manufactures will actually put lower quality RAM in the 400's than in the 200's so you will just trade clock speed for memory speed. Evga does that. I got my Evga Geforce 2 mx 200 card with 32 megs of ram from NewEgg for exactly 60 bucks with shipping. What a Deal!!

well Ive been looking at the geforce2 mx 200, 400 and the radeon le

the mx 400 is a little to expencive so I think I will get a mx 200 and overclock it and maybe turn it into a quando=]

Don't expect much performance gain from the Quadro... but you did make the right choice, you will be able to use that gf2 for a while...

well, ive seen and compared both radeon and geforce2 mx. i hve to say i was more impressed with radeon performance. however, if overclcoekrs i dont know which is better. neither of the cards i saw was overclocker.

If it were 10 days ago i would have suggested going to excess solutions and calling them to order the voodoo5 5500 fo only 50 bucks. It wasn't on their site but was in their store. They sold out after it was posted in the cyber deals section in this forum. I got 2.
i haven't tried the geforce 2mx or the radeon but they post sound like good candidates. Go look at some reviews and comparisons just search for them on google.
