What kind of problems does one typically see when the VIO settings may not be high enough.

Probably the most common is 3D graphics causing the system to hang or drop back to the desktop. Some of the modern video cards are current hogs also, and may drag the I/O volts down slightly and it's necessary to boost it slightly to get them back where they need to be.

Most modern vid cards get along with an I/O voltage of 3.5

Very true- the problem is that some MBs default to 3.3v and goes unnoticed.

First off, let me begin by saying thank you for replying to my post. Also, would you happen to know anything about increasing the MTH/MCH (memory translator hub/memory controller hub) voltages on my Intel 820 Camino chipset mobo. Like how one might be able to tell when it's adjustment could help.
