I just ordered one of these to replace my coolermaster hsf that only pushes 23 cfm...Is this gonna help me overclock more, or will it just keep my cpu a bit cooler...I heard some good things about it..anyone have positive/negative comments about it?

Thanks

Why did you go with a hsf which is ranked 33rd on the overclockers heatsink reveiw? Cost or noise level? I am just wondering. You might have went with this: Vantec Aeroflow With TMD Fan which is ranked in 10th place and is known for it low noise level and very good performance at that noise level. You could probably get a better OC with the Vantec that the Volcano 9 if you want low noise (the reason I keep mentioning noise is because you have a 23cfm fan before which to me shows low noise). Any way, that's just my opinion and I could be wrong.

The fan on top of that pushes three times more air, so it certainly will help cool it down, (ie overclock), but it's gonna' make one helluva lot of noise. I know because mine does. If you can deal with that, you're all set. You can, of course, turn it down, so don't be scared you made a bad choice. Just don't expect to overclock as high when it's turning lower rpms. It's a good fan, (not with the SLK-800 mind you), but I know nothing about the heat sink part of it.
