well, it suggestes that i use a 24kOhm resistor to make this modification, but i can only find a 22kOhm resistor anywhere, so i also got a 2.2kOhm resistor thinking i could put the 2 together and use it that way
will the 22kOhm resistor work alone, will the 22kOhm and 2.2kOhm work better, any advice?
thanks

Don't use a resistor. Use a 47k-ohm micro pot from Radio Shack. With the pot you can vary the resistance on the fly without a reboot. Radio Shack P/N 271-283.

Colin has posted detailed instructions and I have also done a write up that has been submitted. It will probably be posted soon on the front page. My write up was done on a KT7 series board, but if yours uses the HIP6301 IC for voltage, then the mod is the same.

Welcome to the forums warflyr. A 22k resistor will work just fine but as AMDGuy said try a micro pot so you can adjust voltage on the fly. Just be very careful not to knock off any resistors. They are very hard to get back on, I know from experience.

This article suggests a 10k trimmer between Pin 6 and ground. I cannot verify the trimmer size as I have not modded this board. If a 10k trimmer is correct the part number at the Shack is 271-282. There would be no problem using number 271-283, a 47K trimmer. Install the trimmer, turn it to full resistance, boot and start Via Hardware Monitor. Set the polling interval to two seconds and slowly turn the trimmer to dial up your voltage.
