I did the voltage mod on my Abit KT7-E motherboard, and it worked great for about 2 weeks. Yesterday, one of my friends was over here and got drunk, yanked on my Intellimouse, killed the mouse cable, and moved my case about a foot. It froze. I restarted, and upon bootup, got lots of registry errors and such (at the time it was running at 1073 mhz @ 2.01vcore). So, I clocked it back down to 1ghz. Got into Windows without a hitch, and immediately started up Hardware monitor thinking it was temps, and was surprised at what was happening. My vcore was jumping anywhere from 1.7 to 2.01v all over. I opened up my case, and it appears that my solder job to the mosfet came undone (I used the 30k ohm ground to mosfet mod). It was a s**t to get soldered, as the solder wouldn't stick to the chip, so after getting the solder to stick, I used hot glue, but I think as the chip heated, the hot glue came undone.
Is there a better solder to use, or a better way of doing this?
