I have an Asus A7V-E (jumperless) - even if it is "jumperless" it has two
jumpers for cpu clock frequency and mulitiplier, but it has no setting for
the voltage. Not on the board physically, nor in the BIOS. I can't get my
Duron 800 to run any higher without freezes than 900 with the current
voltage. Anyone have an idea on how to increase the voltage ?

you have the a7ve that can up higher the voltage
i have an A7ve too and i can up my voltage to 1.85
duron 700@1000 10.0x100 1.85 v
infineon 128 mb pc133 cas 2
why don.t you take your duron and you unlock the bridge in the L7 and you unlock them and the voltage can up too 1.85 and if your lucky youcan up too 1.9v

I have "soldered" the bridges on the duron - but I can't figure out how to raise the voltage level on the motherboard. There are no jumpers or bios settings for it - it all seems automatic. How do you change the voltage ?

in duron procesor it has L7 bridges do the same way as you do the L1 bridge to unlock the multlipier but if you unlock the L7 bridge the core will raise up

and if you unlock the L7 go to the bios setting in hardware monitor if the core raise up that you have succed raise the core

Ah I see...You "solder" the L7 ? So how much will it raise ?

Because of the mapping of the 'L7' bridges, the maximum that you can achieve with bridge modification is 1.85Vcore. By connecting all of the 'L7' bridges, you can use the same method as you did for the 'L1's, you'll set the default Vcore to 1.85v.

More information can be found here.

Funny, I found the exact same page just before :)
Thanks!
I have tried it now, and the only ones I can choose without cutting any bridges are : 1.600v, 1,650v, 1,800v and 1,850v.
1600v is the default one, and the 1,65 isn't enough. 1,85 provides too much heat for my duron 800 (with a Coolermaster fan and goop inbetween.)
I have yet to try 1,800, but I don't think it'll be cold enough. I don't really want to start cutting the bridges either, is there an easier way than doing it with a dremel cutter or something ?

no i'm sorry it's the only way to raise the voltage and or you can wait for the new bios on A7VE and the new bios it'ss........ ihope it has a vcore selction in the bios and the only think you can do change the fan to FOP32 it's the better fan to overclock :)

Just bought a GlobalWin WBK38 and I'm now running 1ghz. Can't do higher I'm afraid :)
It's so noisy :(

or you can buy the alpha heatsink yes the global win wbk 38 it's so noisy and by the way do you have icq number ????? in that case i can tell you much more about A7Ve or the other board ok

ok now do you have any problem with your mobo and your duron just tell me and i will help you
