Anyone know how to make a fan speed controller. I have 4 92mm fans drawing 0.25 amps at 12V each, and it gets a little loud. I'm want to be able to vary the supply voltage to them so I can control their speed. My first thought was to try and find a 12+ watt Variable Resistor, but I can't seem to find one of those anywhere - not to mention it would probably be huge.

My other thought was to build a fan controller or buy one if it wasn't too expensive. I'd rather build one just for fun. But I have no idea how. Anyone have any thoughts?

Arch, show off... *- )

For parts, try an online electronic part store with sales office in the US ?
Around here "ELFA" comes to mind, not sure if they have a US section..
