volume control static noise

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question, my promedia v2 4.1 has a problem with the volume control knob. Everytime when i adjust the volume, i could hear a static noise which is quiet annoying. Does anybody has an advice on how to make it dissappear?

A while back when I was shopping for pc speakers I noticed the same problem on the demo model in best buy.I figured most of them would develop the same problem,thats why I never bought them.

To fix that I used to get a can of tv tuner cleaner spray with stereo volume controls and tv sets,It might work for you too if you can get the nozzle in the crack.

thanks, i will try that and i just found out that i can buy the control panel for $50, but it does not make sense since i got the unit for $25.

the crackling noise is caused by dust and dirt. if you take a little bit of electric motor oil and put it where the knob attatches to the pcb board and turn it a bit itll stop. had this problem with my headphones

Ya my promedia 2.1's have that same prob. Thank god they are not my main speakers.
