Okay before the 3dfx site removed the review pages it noted that the voodoo3 2000 and 3000 cards had DVD assist, and it says it on the box a belive that came with the cards..(i still have mine hehe).
I have the latest drivers 1.07.0

I have Win DVD 2000 runs fine but I was wondering what it would be like if I had the 3dfx voodoos DVD assist turned on. All I need to know is how to turn it on. Cant find anything in the 3dfx tools...But I am getting a new video card and I want one that will last as long as my voodoo3 has (hey it may be old but it plays Q3 at 75 fps with everything on high and overclocked to 170)

Thanks man helped alot..So a radeon 64 ddr better than a geforce playing DVDs?

Cause Im upgradeing this V3 soon.

Radeon cards are some of the best (home use) for video production, hence DVD decoding is also real decoding done on the card.

This is the only area that the geforce is lacking, the onboard hardware decoding is subpar at best with my card... but it still rocks the Radeon in gaming, so there's the tradeoff.

hhmm...geforce 3 or radeon...ugh would the DVD performance better than my v3 though? edit with the geforce I mean.

Wait a sec I just saw the price ofr the radeon 64 ddr vivo on pricewatch IM GETTING RADEON!

That's probably a good bet, as long as you don't expect too much from it's gaming abilities on future games.

You could pretty much make that statement for any video card out there now except maybe the GF3, which I would add another 6 months too, maybe more.
