How does this affect the PCI bus performance? What does increasing or decreasing the value do?

very good question. i once changed it to a higher value and fixed a studdering problem with winamp during high hard drive use. but then i tryed to fix the same problem that way in a different os and it didnt work. i have noticed the default value has been different in the different revisions of the bios though. id love to hear the answer if you ever find it
