So I'm looking for VPN recommendations, March 2025 edition.

Had Nord, but I'm finding more and more sites are blocking it, even with a dedicated IP. Blue sky and USPS being the two big ones that come to mind first.

Looking for a bit of anonymity and a bit of online security. Windows/Android programs.

Any suggestions?

A friend has been using Private Internet Access for years. The 3 year plan is very affordable & it is generally well reviewed.

Ive been using PIA for a couple years now, found a nice promocode for the 3 year plan if I don't find another 1 in a year when it expires I've been wanting to try proton. Never had any issues with PIA according to my ISP anyway LMAO. That wasn't the case before.

I use the PIA app but it only connects when a certain program is launched, I don't use it for my day to day stuff but I can tell you when I had my router setup to run through it none of my financial apps or sites would work. When I sent the step kid around the globe for her college classes we had to notify the bank as she went from one country to the next so they wouldn't flag her account as suspicious so I'm guessing they are using at least some form of geo tracking on the ip addresses.

I thought that PIA had started to do more data logging or something like that.

When reading eviews for VPN's, pay attention for their policies surrounding data retention.

so far they aren't logging, and being the model internet citizen I am if they were providing logs I would or will find out pretty quick lol

I figured website blocking is just a standard "feature" of any VPN. Is it not? It seems some companies are going above and beyond to block all VPN access. I use Keep Solid and Pure VPN (formerly Ivacy). Mostly for torrenting perfectly legal stuff of course.

Well, got proton. They're running a deal, $70 for two years and I wanted a change.

(Plus my Nord subscription expired a week ago and I'm stuck in VA wanting to do... Not VA things :chair:)
