Was it only 3 months? I remember it being like 6. Could be wrong though.

Just start a new account and check your old name after 3 mounts to see if that account name is gone.

i think it tells you in the creat account readme thing that it shows you when you make an account how long they stay around if theyr unactive

Nope, you can't nuke your account yourself. If you want a new account, you just have to start one. Blizzard will nuke old accounts after 3 months of inactivity after the initial x hours to establish one.
