I got the Vantek VA4-C7040 CPU air cooler because of its review here and I wanted it quiet. But I've run into a worrysome problem with that TMD fan. It sometimes won't start unless you spin it up with your finger. It's either this fan or TMD fans in general. Anyone else have this problem with this technology? Fortunately Abit NF7-S shuts down when the CPU hits 85c and saved my chip.

You need to loosen the screws holding the fan on the heatsink a little. Lots of people on here using the same fan have had that problem.
:)

Also, that fan burnt out my motherboard fan header, you may want to check that out. I untightened the bolts first thing when I got the cooler having read about those problems, but still it would flutter...eventually it just stopped totally. The fan is rated at 3.8 watts, whereas I am using 120mm Stealth fans rated at .96 watts off the mobo headers fine. To solve, I took a spare 3 pin to molex adapter and now it works excellently.
