Hey waht kind of water tanks do most of you use? (just looking for options)

on a side note.. how do u know if a peltier has failed? is there some sort of device u can attach on it or something?

From everything I've seen it is either a toss up between the tank that comes with the H2O cooling kit or Tuperware.

Have you tried a pluggin it in, turning it on and seeing if one side is cool and the other side hot? This is how I would, but I also have alot of stupidity scares also! Hope this helped a little. :)

hehe i actually meant after the peltier is set up between the waterblock and cpu and stuff :D

If you have a Digidoc or a temp probe that has a flat probe on it; you might be able to put it in under the Peltier right next to the CPU core and get a reading that way. Also, check in the BIOS to see how cool the CPU is running in there. The BIOS is usually a good way to check.

you shouldn't have to check anything.
the pelt is supposed to cool your cpu below room temp.. if your cpu is above room temp, using ur regular temp probes, then your pelt is busted.

I bought a junction box at home depot, now I just have to mount the npt bards to it. it's pretty sturdy and a good size. and affordable too. like 8 bucks.

Unless he has his chip running full mod, with max volts and all. I've seen some one use 2 pelts' and still have a load temp of 34C because they OC'ed a 1GHz to like 1.8GHz! He had water cooling on the pels' as well as like 3 120mm fans in the case because of the temps!

Not true, it will only transfer as much heat as you allow it to, meaning that you could just use one to cool the CPU a couple of degrees (or more). They CAN cool to below ambient, but there's no hard and fast rule that says they are supposed to.

I used (note past tence, I busted my water rig) a 20 gallon storage bin for my water.
