I was wondering what temps most of you guys are getting with your watercooled system without pelts and running at least 1ghz. If ya could post your idle temps and full load temps and case temps. If ya could too let me know how long it takes for your system to cool down from full load to idle. Right now I've been playing around with two HO Sunnon 92mm fans and some cardboard and seems like nothing I do really makes a difference. Right now at idle mine is at 30C and case temp is at 22C. When it's at full load it runs 35C and 22C case. Took about 7 minutes for it to get to the lowest idle temp from full load. Just seems like it could be doing a little better. Thanks in advance.

Yea...I was not satisfied with my water cooling rig also. When I first got my rig, it was running at 33 C idle and 37 C full load. It was almost as same as my Hedgehog with delta fan performance. So I did two things.
One, I did what Colin told me to do.(Thanks to Colin) "Increase the water flow~!!" So I bought a mag-drive 500 gpm pump and made it run as an in-line pump.(I had the Eheim 1046 with pathetic 80gph) Two, I changed the waterblock to MAZE2 block from Dangerden. It seems to have much more surface area.(need stronger pump due to more curves and frictions) By changing these two, it reduced my temps down by 5 degrees. Big improvements eh? ;D
Now I'm running at 28 C idle and 32 C full load (Very rarely it goes up to 33 due to higher room temperature I suppose) System temperature is 25~26C. My room temp is 20~22 C.
I hope I can go lower like mid-20's. I am sttill playing around with the fan possition(Case fans) and radiator position. I can get lower temperature if I place the radiator(Cooling Cube) in the bottom front of the case while case open, but never get this thing to fit there when case closed. sux. I'm using Q500 FT case so you know what I mean right?
Oh yea...the temperature goes 1~2 degrees lower if you just use distilled water and water wetter only.(no antifreeze glycol)
Well, hope you reach your goals. ;D
Good luck.

I've been trying to listen to what you and Colin have been saying since we all have pretty much the same setup. I'm using the same pump cept it is 250gph. I think one of the tings that is killing me is the antifreeze. I think I put a little too much in, but it wasn't enough to really even change the color. No matter where I have placed the fans I can't get the case temps below 22C. I have a Panaflow 85cfm at bottom front sucking in, I'm going to put my Y.S Tech 131 in it's place and get two Panaflow 108cfm to mount on the radiator in push-pull affect. I know Colin said he gets alot of turbulence, I will have to see how it does then go from there. I guess I can't complain too much though, when I had my aircooled rig with the Alpha Pal6035 and Sunnon fan my idle temps were 33C and full load was 38-39C and right now it is 34C full load with Seti running for 2 days straight. I would love to get it in the 20's at idle. I have a feeling I'm going to get the KT7a mobo so I can do the voltage mod and oc the crap out of this thing, I founf a couple of articles on my mobo but each one shows modding different points so unless I find a couple of people that have done it the same way and it worked I doubt I will do it. I've been thinking about moving the radiator to the bottom front of my case to but it looks too purty to mess with right now. But after messing with the fans tonight at different locations and not getting and noticable difference in temps, I'm going to start messing with the coolant mix. I think I'm going to try 60/40 mix of distilled water and alcohol. Never know till ya try I guess.

This si my mixture;
8cups of distilled water(I'm not sure if this is distilled water. I got my water from PEP Boys auto shop and it says battery & Radiator mineral free water) Well anyways,
1cup of antifreeze,
1cup of water wetter.
Well, I know I'm using very little amount of antifreeze and water wetter but this is only way to get my temperature as is now.
Let me know how the alcohols working after you try it. It would be a nice experiment, but I'm too lazy to drain my water system again. Takes forever to drain and fill again and putiing all the parts back in. :):):)
Good luck. Hope mixing the alcohol works better than the water wetter.

I get temps of 21C (ambient temp is 20C), but I only have a P3 500E@ 750 that doesn't even need watercooling to get their. I just talked to Brian of BeCoolng, the BeCooling radiator will fit in the front of my case :) so in a week or two I will have a new radiator (he informed me that this radiator cools to within a degree or two of the DD Cube, but at half the price).

I need help picking out an in-line pump. I have about $30 to spend on one. I'm searching for something in the modest 150-250GPH range. Got any Ideas? I'm considering the Leufken 200GPH pump, can you guys think of anything better?

I like the Cooling Cube although it's expensive and huge. I personally would not believe what the sales guy tells you. I'm not criticizing the BeCooling or anything like that. I'm just saying that sales guys are telling all th BS just for you to buy the product. I've been a victim of that sorta stuff several times and now I do an extensive research before actually spending my money. Just try it yourself and let us know of your results. :)
And for the pump, get the mag-drive 250gph for 33 bux.
I bought my 500 gph one for 46 bux at the petwarehouse but I think 250 will be more than enough for P3 cpu.

Hey Jeff,
Get the Danner 250 Gph from either http://www.petsmart.com or http://www.petwarehouse.com . I think either place has em for 33-36 $ . I kinda got ripped of on mine I went to a Petsmart store here local and they had it for $56, but when you are as impatient as me and the pump is what you are waiting on to even get the computer back up and running you just do stoopid things sometimes. You are the one using alcohol with you coolant mix aren't ya? I think I will try it tomorrow. I wanna add some blue food coloring anyway to make it look a little better. It just seems like this cooling system has alot more potential and I just can't find the way to do it. BTW the Danner pumps are sold under the name Supreme Pondmaster I believe. And the pumps are not small in size at all, but they are pretty quite, I have mine sitting on top of velcro and I can't hear it running but then that Y.S. Tech fan covers alot up. :) Anybody has some more ideas I'm all ears........err eyes I guess.

I don't believe him entirely. But he pointed something interesting to me. At half the price, I can always buy another radiator if I need to, and it will not cost any more. He is already trying to talk me in to buying one of those silly submerged pumps in the square aluminum tank. :D I don't think he is a salesman, I think he is the owner/operator of BeCooling.

Of course 250GPH will be enough, right now I have a 75GPH pump that pumps about 40GPH and it does a dandy job :)

Yeah-

Looks like I'll go with a danner 250 or 350, but what about the magnetic field? I know Colin (think it was Colin) was having problems with his screen flickering, did you get that problem solved Colin? What about the rest of you guys that are using mag-drive pumps? Any problems?

Not that I'm running a 1 Gz machine, but here's my data none less:

750 duron => 825-890 (depends on what i want to do) Flight sims put the screw to system stability for me, so if i want to fly, i've got to turn'er down.

Danger den cube front mounted to my Antec SX830 case, with one 69cfm sunon 120mm pulling air through the front of the case, and the cube (doesn't that scream blockage?)

Danger den maze 2 block, and an eheim 1046 pump - with a water bottle for a fluid container.

My idle (web, word, etc etc) temps range ~25-27ºC, with load going to 32 (824) - 35 (890) ºC. I thought i was going to get a good rise in heat, so I could state how fast it cools down, but right now, prime 95 has only got it up to 27 (was 25 before). But from what I can remember, exiting Falcon 4, heat would be ~32, and be down at 26 ish within 2-3 minutes.

I hate it when I write a vauge post. Which what seems to have happened to this one :)

Oh yeah, one other thing, mobo temp (per mbm is 21ºC, which seems sorta high) cause the house is at about 17ºC (in the living room, and my room is a good deal cooler - or seems that way to me)

cheers!

Woh, where to start? Glad the high flow is working for you DamnFast. I got shipping confirmation on a Maze2 today. Unfortunately I have not tried the Artic Silver II Nevin gave me yet. Looks like the new Artic Silver compound will contaminate my Maze2 results. I don’t feel like doing a controlled test.

Jeff, that is a big pump! You should see the stuff they sell at the local Koi supply store. As far as magnetic field problems, I still have them. The video clears up when I run the monitor direct through the video card instead of through the DXR3 so I have not been in such a hurry to fabricate the shield. The steel is out in the garage. I hope to get to it by this weekend. In the meantime, I have to move the graphics pad from my favorite location to keep the pen from shaking.

Current temps are 20 C ambient, System 20.6 C, water 26 C and CPU 26 C. I can hit 41 C if I run Prime. If I back the speed down to 1243 and the voltage to 1.94 my max temps are 32 C. I can understand why AMD did not want these chips running over 2 volts!

So do you guys think it might be my cooling mix, I guess I'll play scientist when I get home from work :) Jeff I don't have any problems at all with magnetic feild, the only time my screen flickers is when I play UT it does it on the opening screen but it did it before the watercooling.

250GPH??? Damn, that's a little fast don't you think? Just like air, you move the water to quickly, I don't care how good a block you got, it won't have time to soak up the heat. Not only that, that kinda flow would induce a "pressure" on the houses and connections wouldn't it? I'm not brave enough for that ****, I'll just use a somewhat "low" powered chiller to achieve those same results. Not only that, I don't want to freeze the cpu, I just want to get it as close to room temp as possible. I will take up the good fight with condensation when the Paliminos get here...with isonics, i'll bet we're going to be able to clock the HELL out of those puppies.... :)

My system runs at:
Case - 26C (no case fans...dont ask ;D )
Cpu - 32C (Full Load), 27C (idle)

1.5L of tap water and 200mL of alcohol
